Asatru means (from Norse roots asa, god(s), and tru, true) It is the name for the twentieth century revival of traditional Norse folk religion. Practitioners are known as Asatruar. The word was coined in the early 1800's by scholars studying the Eddas and sagas for the old faith of the Norse people
